Our Research
The Problem
Robots are dumb. We’re looking to change that — that’s why we call ourselves an anti-dumb robot club. A truly autonomous robot must go beyond rigid rule-based behaviors and adapt real time.
We believe that this can be broken down into smaller, solvable sub-problems.
Our Approach
How we’re approaching this is to tackle use-case specific problems first. This way, we ensure that our research is applied and stress-tested.
High-level planning can essentially be broken down into the following, and eventually others that we’ll continually solve for:
- Perception Systems - Speech, Vision, Sensors
- Physical Capabilities - Mobility, Feel/Touch
- Navigation Systems - Spatial Awareness
These research efforts are consolidated into downstream applications, with contributions to open-source AI development and creation of commercially viable AI solutions.
